Dartmouth-Hitchcock (D-H) is an academic medical center consistently ranked the #1 hospital in New Hampshire by U.S. News and World Report. We are seeking an exceptional Hospital Epidemiologist and Staff Physician to join the clinical team in the Section of Infectious Disease and International Health (IDIH) within the Department of Medicine.

This individual will have dedicated time devoted to serving as Co-Director of the hospital's Infection Prevention program and will provide expertise in infection prevention activities and programs at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and at system member hospitals in the region.

This professionally rewarding position includes collaboration and research opportunities with the Value Institute Learning Center and the Analytics Institute. There are also opportunities to teach a wide variety of learners in an academic medical environment, and at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.

The candidate should have:
  • Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases (and be board certified/board eligible by their start date)
  • Experience in hospital epidemiology and infection prevention
  • Training in healthcare epidemiology through programs offered by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (or equivalent)
  • Graduate level education (or other public health training) in epidemiologic methods
  • An interest in data analysis and process improvement.

The Section of Infectious Disease and International Health at Dartmouth-Hitchcock consists of ten faculty members and seven fellows, along with associate providers, nursing staff, research and administrative staff. The clinical services of our Section include Hospital-based and outpatient consultations for the full spectrum of infectious diseases of adults and children, an International Travel Clinic, a comprehensive Infection Control Program staffed by physician epidemiologists and infection preventionists, an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program staffed by physicians, nurses and a pharmacist, an Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy program, and a Regional HIV Program.

Qualified candidates must be BC/BE in Infectious Disease and be eligible for a New Hampshire medical license, and DEA registration. The successful candidate must also have active clinical responsibilities, a track record of working towards scholarly achievement, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Highly motivated new grads are also encouraged to apply. This position is eligible for H1B sponsorship, but is not eligible for J-1 Waiver support at this time.
