Professor or Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, seeks applications and nominations for the position of Professor or Associate Professor of Medicine to serve as Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases in its Department of Medicine. 

The successful applicant will be an experienced academician and clinician who will be able to provide strong leadership for all of the clinical, educational, and scientific activities of the Division. The successful applicant will have a strong track record as an investigator in basic or clinical science. She/He must be a highly capable and credible clinician who can command the respect of an outstanding clinical team. The successful applicant must have a clear record of leadership and administration, and must possess outstanding teaching skills. The Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at BIDMC includes 30 full-time members with academic appointments at Harvard Medical School. The infectious diseases effort at BIDMC has a strong basic and clinical research base, provides superb teaching to students, residents, and fellows, and provides outstanding clinical care in robust general ID, ID in immunosuppressed patients, antibiotic stewardship and infection control, and conducts outpatient care in general ID, follow-up administration of antibiotics and travel medicine. 

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a 783-bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital, is the major academic medical center within Beth Israel Lahey Health, a system comprising 13 hospitals, numerous ambulatory care sites, and a large primary care base readily accessible to all the residents of Eastern Massachusetts.
