The Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks an orthopaedic trauma surgeon to join the Trauma Division. This opportunity is for an academically oriented, board certified or board eligible, orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in trauma to join the Duke faculty.
The successful applicant will be an integral part of the orthopaedic trauma team largely based at Duke University Hospital, a busy level I trauma center. Applicants should be committed to excellence in patient care, education of residents and fellows, scholarship, and leadership on local, national, and international levels. There is the ability to develop an elective practice in another clinical area in addition to this role, if desired.
This new faculty member will be expected to develop an academic program in collaboration with research faculty, utilizing the rich academic infrastructure. Support for research will be made available throughout the broad range of academic areas at Duke University. The Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the Duke Clinical Research Institute are examples of existing research infrastructure available to this faculty member. Academic rank and salary for this position will be commensurate with experience.
