The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Duke University School of Medicine is seeking an academic psychologist at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as Co-Director of the Division of Adult Psychiatry and Psychology. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background with demonstrated leadership and history of accomplishment in clinical care, education, research, and administration.

The Division of Adult Psychiatry and Psychology serves as the academic home for more than 150 psychiatry and psychology faculty, 30 staff members, and 70 learners who are part of the psychiatry residency and fellowship, psychology internship, and postdoctoral training programs. The goal of advancing excellence and innovation across clinical, research, and education services and programs is central to the Division's tripartite mission, and the successful candidate will work in partnership with a psychiatrist Co-Director to support the professional development of faculty and staff across these missions. High priority area(s) of clinical and/or research focus could include (but are not necessarily limited to) the study of mental/behavioral health disparities and community-based research, primary care mental health integration, treatment of substance use disorders (SUD), mood and anxiety disorders, and/or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and digital health and mental health informatics. Support is available for research and/or clinical quality improvement initiatives that align with the division priorities. Responsibilities include administrative oversight of core divisional activities and collaboration with departmental leaders to ensure the highest standards of clinical care, training, research practices, academic scholarship, and professionalism. The Co-Director will provide leadership, accountability, and strategic vision to promote the development of the Division faculty, staff, and learners. In coordination with faculty and staff search committees, education program leaders, Division Directors, and Vice Chairs, the Co-Director will be responsible for implementing effective strategies for the mentorship, promotion, recruitment, and retention of diverse faculty, staff, and learners with an emphasis on individuals who are underrepresented in psychiatry and behavioral health.

Candidates must hold a Doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited university and be eligible for licensure as a psychologist in North Carolina. Salary, rank and tenure status are contingent upon candidate qualifications. The rank and tenure status awarded in alignment with the Duke School of Medicine's promotion and tenure policy.
