Academic Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathologist: The Department of Pathology of the Westchester Medical Center (Valhalla, NY) seeks a full-time fellowship trained gastrointestinal and liver pathologist to join our practice. The successful candidate is required to sign out general surgical pathology as well as GI/Liver pathology cases. GI/Liver pathology specimens include mucosal biopsies, surgical resections, medical liver biopsies, and liver transplants. The duties of the position include participation in the day-to-day operation of the surgical pathology service (i.e. frozen sections, biopsy and surgical case sign out, organization of inter and intradepartmental conferences and provision of GI/liver consultative services to both pathologists and clinicians). The candidate would serve as a liaison between the Department of Pathology, gastroenterologists and GI and liver transplant surgeons. The successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students and training of pathology residents, and other house staff in pathology. Finally, the candidate will have an academic faculty appointment in the Department of Pathology at New York Medical College at the rank commensurate with the level of candidate's experience and scholarly activities. Requirements: Applicants must possess a MD/DO, MD/Ph.D., or foreign equivalent degree. Completion of three-year accredited residency training in pathology, with at least one additional year of training/experience in GI/Liver pathology. Board certification/eligibility in anatomic and clinical pathology, or anatomic pathology. Demonstrated record of academic/research activities in the field of pathology, including a documented track record of publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and presentations at national scientific meetings.
