Northwell Health is seeking a full-time academic Trauma Medical Director board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care to join the faculty at our Staten Island University Hospital. There is also an opportunity to be the Acute Care Surgery Director. This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Clinician Educator in a high acuity environment with a very supportive and experienced team.

The qualified candidate will join and direct a team of three other full-time trauma attendings in Staten Island University Hospital Division of Trauma. The Director will also have responsibilities in the Surgical ICU and Acute Care Surgery services. Staten Island University Hospital is an ACS certified Level I Trauma Center with 3,000 trauma evaluations, admitting over 50% annually. The Division also manages 5-10 beds in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Lastly, the Division is actively involved in research at the basic science, translational, and clinical level with active teaching responsibilities of residents and fellows. SIUH maintains an ACGME accredited general surgery residency, one of three in the Northwell Health System, as well as fellowships in Surgical Critical Care, Vascular and MIS.

Staten Island University Hospital is a 714-bed teaching hospital that spans two campuses and provides a vast array of services in health and wellness.
