Director, Ambulatory Psychiatry
Northwell Health’s Behavioral Health Service Line and The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time board certified Director, Ambulatory Psychiatry located in New Hyde Park, NY.
This is a unique leadership opportunity to grow the Behavioral Health Service Line’s ambulatory psychiatry portfolio through a combination of direct management of service-line operated programs, collaborative stewardship of non-service line-operated programs, participation in system-level initiatives to identify opportunities to improve patient satisfaction, quality of care, and delivery of direct patient care to ensure delivery of quality services.
The Director will work with service-line leadership to expand psychiatry services by developing a virtual clinic experience and implementing/promoting new technologies such as novel digital therapies and integration with Northwell’s patient portal, application and digital patient experience platform.
The Director will assume overall responsibility for the behavioral health practice including new program development, business development, program design, care standardization, workforce expansion, process improvement, regulatory compliance, and trainee education. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures. Implement clinical protocols, utilization reviews, case management, quality assurance, and compliance programs in the practice according to Hospital and service line policies. Practice settings may include group practices, hospital-based clinics, integrated care, employee services, community organizations, and substance use disorder programs.
Candidate must have an MD or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine and completion of Psychiatry Residency with Board Certification required. Candidate must be licensed (or license eligible) as a physician in the State of New York with a minimum of three years clinical practice in psychiatric medicine. Previous experience with ambulatory telepsychiatry and/or ambulatory psychiatry administration strongly preferred. Local travel required.
