It is one of the two children’s hospitals in China that has three national discipline platforms, namely the National Clinical Research Center for Child Health, the National Children’s Regional Medical Center, and the National Key Discipline —Pediatrics. The hospital’s neonatology, pediatric critical care, pediatric gastroenterology, and pediatric respiratory are national key clinical specialties in the country.

Relying on Zhejiang University, ZUCH has several national scientific research platforms, such as the National Base for International Science and Technology Cooperation for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Birth Defects, the International Joint Laboratory of Hereditary Birth Defects, and the National Stem Cell Clinical Research Institute. ZUCH is committed to carrying out international academic exchanges and it has established substantial collaboration with more than 10 internationally renowned children’s hospitals.
