About ZUCH

The Children’s Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (ZUCH), established 70 years ago, is the oldest and largest Grade-A Tertiary children’s hospital in Zhejiang Province and has over 2,800 employees and 1,417 beds. It is one of the two children’s hospitals in China that has three national discipline platforms, namely the National Clinical Research Center for Child Health, the National Children’s Regional Medical Center, and the National Key Discipline —Pediatrics. The hospital’s neonatology, pediatric critical care, pediatric gastroenterology, and pediatric respiratory are national key clinical specialties in the country.

Relying on Zhejiang University, ZUCH has several national scientific research platforms, such as the National Base for International Science and Technology Cooperation for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Birth Defects, the International Joint Laboratory of Hereditary Birth Defects, and the National Stem Cell Clinical Research Institute. ZUCH is committed to carrying out international academic exchanges and it has established substantial collaboration with more than 10 internationally renowned children’s hospitals.

In 2019, ZUCH established a National Clinical Research Center for Child Health and a National Children’s Regional Medical Center in China. ZUCH has built a collaborative system of pediatric medical care, relying on Zhejiang, however, covering East China and radiating across the country.
