Position Summary

Collaborate closely with Education Institute faculty and assume other functional roles to address learning needs, produce assets, offer consultative services, and lead the design and implementation of an e-Learning strategy across the Education Institute.

Position Expectations

Collaborate with Education Institute and Cleveland Clinic caregivers to:
  • Innovate to maximize teaching and learning using technology
  • Recommend sound instructional design principles to enhance existing programs
  • Develop, revise, and evaluate educational materials to effectively leverage technology
  • Contribute to existing programs such as the Master of Education and other professional development offerings

Develop and implement educational programming based on needs assessments and/or identified gaps; including project design, management of scope, production, and implementation.

Engage in potential educational technology consultations across the entire Cleveland Clinic health system (Main, Regional Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic Florida, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, and Cleveland Clinic London).

Collaborate with other Education Institute faculty to develop such a consultative service.

Harness opportunities to contribute to educational scholarship and/or educational research.

Obtain an academic appointment at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University commensurate with experience and contributions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ability to design, develop, and implement innovative, technology-enhanced educational products suitable for a wide range of healthcare professional learning audiences
  • Demonstrate high level of conceptual thinking to participate in the production of diversified learning projects
  • Manage issues related to instruction delivery, which includes: classroom, online, self-directed study, web-based environment, or any combination of these delivery systems
  • Maintain a solid professional/technical knowledge-base of current practices in technology-based instructional systems. Communicate and contribute to the awareness of such practices throughout the organization
  • Stay abreast of learning industry trends to actively contribute to the organization and to innovate in educational technology

  • PhD/EdD with focus on Instructional Design or Educational Technology or MD/DO with extensive experience in Instructional Design or Educational Technology
  • Demonstrated experience in e-Learning design, development, and implementation, including experience using software/tools/systems to produce assets for a web-based environments
  • Proficient in core learning and instructional design principles, methods, and models, and best practices
  • Proven track record with scholarship in area of expertise
  • Experience in health professions education
  • Capable of interacting with key decision makers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Requirements

This position requires relocating to Cleveland, Ohio once COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Remote work can be arranged until such time.
