IU Health Physicians is looking for an experienced Pediatric Oncologist to join and lead the dynamic, robust team at the nationally-ranked Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Riley Hospital for Children is the only nationally ranked pediatric hematology/oncology program in the state of Indiana with the only pediatric stem cell transplant program and the only site offering pediatric CAR T-Cell therapy. The CCBD is affiliated with the IU Health Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center, the state's only NCI designated cancer center for clinical care. Riley at IU Health is a Children's Oncology Group Phase I Consortium member. Our patients are able to access the latest clinical trials and cutting edge medications all while under the care of highly skilled physicians and staff. We service the entire state of Indiana as well as bordering regions of Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky. With comprehensive interdisciplinary disease-focused teams, doctors and staff treat more than 80% of children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer in Indiana, with a high volume of outpatient visits focusing on leukemias, solid tumors, brain tumors, hematopoietic/stem cell transplant, general hematology, hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease and thalassemias, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemophilia and other coagulation disorders.

Employment Details:
  • Full-time position with strong work/life balance supported by standard schedule and call coverage shared among large team of providers
  • Clinical care in all areas of hematology/oncology (50% inpatient / 50% outpatient) with opportunity to focus career on leukemia/lymphoma
  • Special focus on clinical leadership and interest in teaching/mentoring as an Assistant/Associate Professor at the IU School of Medicine (50% clinical / 50% academic)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, coordinate and oversee medical services that assure a comprehensive, patient-oriented approach to care that is compatible with and supportive of patient care, teaching and research mission of IU Health, the IU School of Medicine and other major affiliates
  • Provide direct hematology and oncology patient care, following patients in the hospital
  • Build and grow the established local oncology program
  • Participate in the formulation of policies and procedures for our services
  • Maintain personnel management accountability, provide continuous employee feedback and effectively manage staff in a consistent manner

Qualifications:
  • Experienced clinician with a minimum of 5-10 years expertise in pediatric hem/onc
  • Fellowship trained in pediatric hem/onc
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics & Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
  • Physician MD/DO licensed (or eligible) in Indiana
