Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth are searching for candidates for a one year Advanced Fellowship in Neurogastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Motility. Following the completion of this program, the Fellow is expected to have gained competency in all aspects of motility procedures, including esophageal manometry, anorectal manometry,wireless pH capsule testing and impedance pH monitoring.

In addition, the Fellow will be competent in the evaluation and treatment of functional GI disorders including achalasia, gastroparesis, functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome and pelvic floor disorders.

There will be opportunities to learn therapeutic endoscopy techniques, including balloon dilation for benign esophageal strictures, pneumatic balloon dilation for achalasia and ablation therapies for Barrett's esophagus. Exposure to peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) treatment for achalasia may also be encountered during the fellowship. Fellows are expected to complete a research project resulting in presentation at a national meeting during their fellowship.

The advanced fellow will also be expected to work one day a week performing routine endoscopic procedures in our endoscopy unit. The fellow will receive an appropriate academic appointment as a member of the faculty of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.

Candidates must be graduates of a LCME accredited medical school. Candidates must complete an ACGME accredited Gastroenterology fellowship and be ABIM board eligible by fellowship start date of July 13, 2020.
