Children’s Hospital of Michigan is actively seeking an Adolescent Medicine Specialist for a full-time opportunity in Detroit, MI. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established academic group as they continue to expand to better serve the primary care needs of the children and adolescents in the Metro Detroit area and surrounding communities.

Highlights:

  • Full-time, employed opportunity – Available Immediately!
  • 8 Clinics per week (each is a 4-hour block)
  • Academic opportunity – work with medical students and residents
  • 80% Clinical time, 20% teaching and administrative time
  • Inpatient consult service – every 3 weeks for 3 days per week (clinic appointment schedule is modified during that week to allow time for hospital consults)
  • Beeper call every 3rd week

About Our Division:

The Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Michigan specializes in the care of patients from ages 11 through 21. The division provides comprehensive adolescent health care services to all male and female adolescents, including complete school, camp, sports, and routine physical examinations and immunizations. Other services include reproductive health care, eating disorders, and behavioral health management. We also provide management of chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, or gastrointestinal diseases in close cooperation with other specialists.

Founded in 1886, Children’s Hospital of Michigan is the first and largest freestanding children’s hospital in the state with more than 40 pediatric sub-specialties and 228 inpatient beds. A proud member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), Children’s Hospital of Michigan is also home to a Level I Trauma Center (verified by the American College of Surgeons) as well as one of the few Pediatric Burn Centers in the nation (verified by the American Burn Association).

Candidate Requirements:

MD or DO. Candidates must be board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics with special qualification in Adolescent Medicine. Must be eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Michigan.
