UTMB was established in 1891 as the first academic health center in Texas and is a component of the University of Texas System. Today UTMB includes four schools (medicine, nursing, health professions, and graduate biomedical sciences), a network of hospitals and clinics that provide a full range of primary and specialized medical care, and numerous research facilities.

UTMB League City Campus
UTMB Health opened League City's first hospital, complete with inpatient and outpatient care, medical and surgical specialties, expanded-hours urgent care and 24-hour emergency department in May 2020. The new League City Campus will add a new tower that connects directly to the hospital and includes a medical-surgical unit; intensive care unit; sterile processing department; laboratory and blood bank; a pharmacy; a new café and dietary services offices; and many other support service departments throughout all floors in the new building.

The League City Campus offers advanced health care services to patients in a soothing, healing environment designed by patients, families, and staff. Architecture, décor, and design all reflect a healing environment and a hospital that cares for the patient's mind, body, and spirit. Each private, state-of-the-art patient room supports a team-based, patient- and family-centered approach to care.

Hospitalist ICU Opportunity – candidates must possess an MD or equivalent degree and be Board Certified/Board Eligible in their respective field. The selected candidate(s) will provide patient care at UTMB’s League City campus, ICU department.
