Department of Medicine Medical Service Chief for LAC+USC

The LAC+USC Medical Center and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern Californa (KSOM) with its Department of Medicine are seeking applicants for a Medical Service Chief position at the LAC+USC Medical Center. LAC+USC Medical Center and the KSOM are inviting qualified candidates to submit their CVs and cover letters to express their interest, vision, and goals for the position. Qualified candidates should be licenced internal medicine practitioners, have past or current experience with resident and fellow education, and should be board certified in Internal Medicine, as well as in any relevant specialty or subspecialty in Medicine. Candidates will be reviewed by the joint LAC+USC Medical Center/KSOM search committee to identify the ideal candidate who will be offered employment by the LAC+USC Medical Center.
The key responsibilities of this position, in addition to assigned clinical work and teaching responsibilities, include:
- Oversight of other Medicine subspecialty Service Chiefs
- Oversight of quality, safety, and efficiency efforts of Medicine services
- Liasion for the Department of Medicine in regards to regulatory and risk issues
- Liaison between the Department of Medicine and LAC+USC leadership
The 600-bed Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center is one of the largest public hospitals in the country. Through its affiliations with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and the Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health, it is one of the premier academic teaching hospitals in the nation and one of the nation’s leading hospitals for training health professionals.
The Department of Medicine of Keck Medicine of USC has over 300 faculty across 10 Internal Medicine subspecialites and trains 302 residents and subspecialty fellows each year.
