Reading Hospital, our flagship hospital of Tower Health Medical Group, is seeking a Program Director Academic Hospitalist to lead the program in beautiful West Reading, PA. This position comes with a faculty appointment to Drexel University at Tower Health!

Job Summary

The Clinical Teaching Inpatient Service is an Academic Hospitalist model of 7 days on clinical service (averaging eleven 12-hour clinical teaching days/month).
There will be 72 shifts of direct clinical supervision of residents on inpatient service per year dependent on other responsibilities. In addition, other teaching
activities listed below will occur on non-clinical days.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR ACADEMIC HOSPITALIST:

The Responsibility and Accountability 'meets standards' when:
Bedside teaching on rounds: residents and medical students.
Didactic lectures. Simulation.
Scenario development with other faculty members.
Resident teaching.
Teaching projects as requested by Department Chair and/or Residency Program Director.
Morning Report presentation and regular attendance.
Mentorship: Assigned residents.
Attend monthly faculty meetings.
Participate in faculty development (semi-annually).
Attend monthly Hospitalist meetings (when scheduled).
Participation in residency recruitment.
CCC Participation.
Administrative oversight of residency program, faculty, residents and curriculum.
Oversight of resident schedules.
Assure resident mentoring is assigned and completed.
Oversight of all resident rotations and educational experiences.
Assure all ACGME requirements of accreditation are maintained and addressed.
Arrange TYPEC committee and Annual Program Evaluation meeting.
Review annual faculty performance.
Assure ongoing faculty development.
Attend annual AHME TY Residency Program Director Meeting.
Verification reports for previous TY residents.
Formulate and oversee TY Quality Initiative Project October - June.
Update TY residency manual and webpage.
Assist with research and poster projects.
Review all resident/faculty evaluations.
Orient new TY interns.
Meet bi-annually with each TY interns.
Complete and submit biannual ACGME milestones.
Destination program updates biannually, anesthesia programs quarterly.

ACLS Certification
BLS Certification
Board Certification in a Specialty Recognized by the ABIM or AOA with Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
DEA license
