Further your career as an assistant program director (APD) for a new emergency medicine ACGME program at St. Luke's Campus - Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, New York. This key role will partner with the program director in planning and coordinating academic and operational activities of the residency program and provide administrative supervision and guidance to residents regarding administrative issues, due dates, deadlines and other key elements. The APD will be responsible for ensuring program, faculty and resident compliance with ACGME and providing guidance on policies and issues as it relates to GME requirements. The anticipated start date for the first class in this program is summer of 2022. Qualified candidates must be Residency Trained in Emergency Medicine and currently board certified or truly board eligible with current ATLS, ACLS, PALS & stroke certifications. Facility Description
St. Luke's Hospital emergency department is part of a two-hospital system which includes St. Elizabeth Medical Center with 72,000 combined visits per year. They serve as the regional Level III Trauma Center, Cardiac Care Center and Designated Stroke Center. In addition, they offer, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accredited Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) Accredited ' Comprehensive Center, Labor and Delivery with a Level II Nursery and Maternal Child Services. Oncology Inpatient Unit, Total Joint Orthopedic Program, Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Senior Network Health, Mohawk Valley Home Care and Visiting Nurse Association of Utica and Oneida County, and Urgent Care Services. These two fast paced emergency departments admit 23-28% of patients, and serve as the cardiac and stroke centers for the city of Utica and surrounding counties. We transition into our new regional medical center in Downtown Utica in 2023 and our new facility will include a 373 bed hospital, 47 ED treatment spaces (ED exam, quick turn, & trauma), 6 Behavioral Health ED treatment rooms, 10 Observation beds, dedicated access to the Medical Imaging room, and CAT Scan with direct and easy access to other imaging modalities. The new design will support the care of 90,000 visits annually. Rarely is there an opportunity where you can be a part of building a new program while simultaneously building a brand new facility to practice in.
