KeystoneCare is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible Lead Palliative Care physician to complement our growing team at Temple University Hospital. KeystoneCare Palliative Care is a well-established and growing, non-profit hospice-based full-spectrum palliative care program in vibrant Philadelphia. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong clinical skills, an interest in evidence-based and compassionate practice while balancing emotionally challenging situations in the context of life-limiting illness. This is a great opportunity if you have an interest in the care of underserved populations with special social challenges.

We are currently providing inpatient palliative care at three hospitals, educating palliative care fellows and a variety of residents in partnership with Temple University Hospital, Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, and Chestnut Hill Hospital. Our expansion plan includes outpatient palliative care and early, advanced illness management.

Opportunity:

  • Join a robust program including multiple physicians and certified nurse practitioners who provide symptom management and advanced palliative care
  • Actively identify opportunities to improve the experience of our patients and their families
  • Improve the effectiveness of resources in management of symptoms, complex chronic medical and social dynamics
  • Teaching opportunities with residents and fellows, as well as various other students and will be involved in consideration of 2021 fellowship applicants
  • Shared call schedule

Professional Skills:

  • Board-certified/Board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Board-certified in primary specialty (IM, IM/Peds, FM, EM, PMR, Neurology)
  • Must be team-oriented and value “whole person” care delivered by an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be able to assess, evaluate, plan, and implement care in complex and life-limiting situations
  • Must be capable of offering specialized knowledge and skill to all members of the health care staff
