Banner University Medical Center and the Transplant Surgery team is seeking a Psychologist to join our integrated team and comprehensively serve patients receiving the gift of an organ transplant. If you have a passion for assisting patients through life-changing events, please consider this position. In collaboration with the Transplant Institute, the team transplant psychologist will:

  • Conduct pre-surgical evaluations for the transplant surgery team
  • Provide follow-up care for patients who experience challenges post-surgery
  • Partner with the integrated transplant sub-teams to deliver excellent care while improving the quality of life of our patients and their family members

Requirements include:

  • PhD in Psychology
  • Must have completed an APA accredited clinical internship Licensure by applicable state Board of Psychologist Examiners
  • New Grads and Experienced Psychologists are encouraged to apply!

The transplant psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services to the transplant recipients, living donors, and their families. Duties include pre-transplant evaluations, outpatient and inpatient clinical consultation, patient and family therapy (e.g., understanding of illness and transplantation procedures, emotional adaptation to chronic illness, adjustment to procedures, adherence to the medical regimen), and collaboration during team meetings and multi-disciplinary conferences regarding transplant listing decisions and patient management strategies.
