Chief of Burn Surgery Westchester Medical Center -WMCHealth Network The Department of Surgery at Westchester Medical Center is seeking an academic surgeon at the Professor Level to lead the Burn Surgery Section for the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). The successful candidate will be board certified in General Surgery or Plastic Surgery with fellowship training in burns and critical care, as well as 5-10 years of progressive academic leadership experience. Chief of Burn section is expected to participate actively and providing clinical leadership across our multi-hospital system. The Burn Section encompasses a multidisciplinary team providing advanced, high quality healthcare in and academic setting. The Burn team consists of doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other supportive services who work together to provide the best possible care. The Burn Center at Westchester Medical Center is the only Burn Center between New York City and the Canadian border in Eastern New York, offering hope for survival and a productive life to hundreds of burn victims each year. The Center is also home to the regional Advanced Wound Therapy and Hyperbaric Center, treating burn victims, as well as people with a wide variety of injuries and wounds. Westchester Medical Center, a 600-bed hospital serving as the primary teaching affiliate for New York Medical College with state of the art pathology, diagnostic and imaging at all of our facilities. Participation in teaching activities with medical students, residents, fellows and other medical staff members as well as scholarly contributions and collaborative research are expected. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
