The Breast Imaging Division of the Duke University Hospital Department of Radiology seeks applicants for a full-time academic Breast Imager position that begins summer 2021. This role has been added due to continued expansion of service. Duke Radiology's Breast Imaging Division, which includes 9 faculty and 3 fellows, serves the Triangle area of North Carolina as well as patients referred from the entire Southeastern United States.

The Breast Imaging Division of Duke University Hospital is one of the premier academic breast imaging programs in the country, excelling at patient care, advancing the science of breast imaging, and training the next generation of radiologists in all facets of breast imaging. The division supports the Duke Cancer Institute's breast surgery and oncology practices as well as Duke Health's rapidly expanding primary care network.

Breast Imaging resides in the beautiful, modern Duke Cancer Center on the campus of Duke University Hospital. Our department performs all breast imaging modalities and procedures using state-of-the-art equipment. Our practice is organized to shepherd patients through the entire range of imaging in one visit, including the ability to perform same-day biopsies in almost all circumstances. The culture of Duke Breast Imaging is collaborative, friendly, and supportive.

Candidates must be ABR-eligible or ABR-certified, have completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency and breast imaging fellowship, and be qualified for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina. Candidates should have a strong interest in the academic practice of breast imaging including educating trainees at all levels as well as a strong interest in advancing the science of breast imaging, typically through research and publication. Salary, faculty rank, and academic track at Duke will be commensurate with experience and credentials. Duke offers an excellent benefits package and support for relocation.
