Cleveland Clinic, one of the world's most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Department Chair of Nephrology & Hypertension within the Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute.

The Department of Nephrology and Hypertension at Cleveland Clinic is ranked as the #4 program in the nation. Cleveland Clinic nephrologists are experts at evaluating and managing chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis, renal diseases, transplantation, and blood pressure disorders. The Nephrology team focuses on empowering patients through education and on tailoring treatment to improve patients' quality of life.

Nephrology represents Cleveland Clinic as a minority owner in a Joint Venture called Ohio Renal Care Group (ORCG) along with Metro Health Medical center and Fresenius, an international dialysis company. The JV owns and operates 14 facilities and a growing home dialysis program across the greater Cleveland area.

Nephrology physicians and advance practice providers are active across the entire enterprise providing care to patients in 20 different locations including 12 different dialysis units.

The Department currently has 28 physicians and 14 NPs. The Department also provides extraordinarily comprehensive and extensive experience in research. The department actively collaborates with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute.

We are searching for a physician leader, in every sense of the word, to carry the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension into the future. The ideal candidate should be an excellent clinician with an established track record of academic productivity. Experience and skills with operations and finance are also sought. An ability to work within an integrated, multi-specialty environment is essential. A keen interest in the study of leadership is preferred. The successful candidate will be eligible for both faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
