Seeks an outstanding full-time (8/8ths) Endocrinologist for the position of Chief of Section of Endocrinology. The successful candidate must be Board Certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism. The applicant will have a clinical practice at the LSDVAMC providing care to patients with a broad range of endocrine disorders in the ambulatory and inpatient care settings. Candidates must possess specialized clinical training and experience in Endocrinology and Diabetes including diabetes technologies, transgender care, and obesity medicine. The position includes oversight of Endocrine care for chronically ill patients in a long-term facility. In addition, this position will involve administrative responsibilities as Endocrine Section Chief and as site director for the Endocrinology and Metabolism Fellowship Program. It is preferred that the candidate have experience in program development, and the candidate must have effective communication skills and work cooperatively with all staff involved in administrative work and patient care. The candidate must have experience in teaching at various levels of medical education including medical students, residents, and fellows. The successful candidate must also possess academic excellence including evidence of contemporary peer review publications and presentations of research at national meetings.
