VABHS seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Chief of Neurology. Candidates for this major leadership position must be board certified in Neurology, have an outstanding record of academic accomplishments with national prominence and have proven leadership skills to attract, motivate, and direct a group of innovative and productive clinicians and researchers. The successful candidate should demonstrate clinical excellence, a commitment to education, and the ability to catalyze the growth of clinical and basic research. Academic credentials should be commensurate with faculty appointment as Professor or Associate Professor at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) or Harvard Medical School (HMS).

VABHS Neurology provides inpatient and consultation services at the West Roxbury campus and outpatient services at the Brockton campus, Jamaica Plain campus, and Lowell outpatient clinic. VABHS hosts one of five national epilepsy centers of excellence and offers specialty clinics in neuromuscular disorders, stroke, epilepsy, ALS, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders, memory disorders, pain, and neuro-oncology. Neurology residents from the Boston University Medical Center and Mass General Brigham programs are integral to the delivery of neurological care.

VABHS is dually affiliated with HMS and BUSM and serves as the major tertiary referral center for Veterans from throughout New England. VABHS provides inpatient, residential, and outpatient medical-surgical and mental health services across three major campuses, five community-based outpatient clinics, and several residential rehabilitation facilities. VABHS is the nation’s largest recipient of VA research funds with strength in neuroscience. VABHS is a host site for numerous national research programs, including the Million Veteran Program, the world’s largest genomic biorepository, VA’s contribution to All of Us, and brain banks for CTE, PTSD, and Alzheimer’s disease. VABHS hosts approximately 3000 trainees annually in medicine, nursing, and the allied health professions.
