Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health Network, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, employed Hematologist/Oncologist with sub-specialty interest at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury is located about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. Our long established and busy practice includes seven physicians and three Advanced Practitioners. Our office is based in the Praxair Cancer Center within the Danbury Hospital Campus.

The medical oncologists at Danbury Hospital and Praxair Cancer Center are sub-specialized and members of the network’s disease teams that incorporate experts in radiation oncology and cancer surgery as well as genetics, research coordinators, dieticians, and dedicated disease specific nurse navigators. We are a member of NRG and have a robust clinical trials portfolio. The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in both Hematology and Oncology and have sub-specialty interest in breast, thoracic, gyn onc, GU, or hematologic malignancies. There is some teaching of medicine residents and medical students. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses as well as relocation allowance.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care.Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our employed Medical Group includes 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Danbury is home to Western Connecticut State University as well as a number of historical sites, museums, theaters, and art galleries. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns with scenic New England landscapes, the area offers a variety of excellent housing and school options. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible via train and car.
