Job Details

Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health, is seeking a Primary Care Physician for our Norwalk Primary Care practice in Norwalk, Connecticut. We are located in suburban Fairfield County just 50 miles outside of New York City along the Connecticut shoreline and just 10 minutes from Norwalk Hospital. This is a family-friendly location with close proximity to NYC on the Westport/Norwalk border and easily accessible via train.

We are seeking a third full-time, Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join a rapidly growing practice. Family Medicine and or Internal Medicine Pediatric applicants welcome, though the practice sees adult patients only. The ideal candidate will also have an interest in geriatrics and post acute care and be board certified in Geriatrics.

The practice includes APRN support. This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice. Competitive total compensation package including base salary, incentive pay, paid time off, CME time off and allowance, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k match and contribution. Hiring bonus and relocation stipend may also be available.

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate primary care physician who will provide comprehensive care in a team-based environment to our population of patients. This includes not only caring for acute and chronic conditions, but working with multidisciplinary support staff to promote the health and well-being of our entire panel of covered lives. This as a full-time, office-based position providing outpatient services only, utilizing a state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record fully integrated across all our hospitals and sites.

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Astride a hill with a commanding view of the Long Island Sound, Norwalk Hospital serves a varied and attractive region of Southern Connecticut. The hospital is just minutes from beautiful places to hike, swim, sail or just walk along the beach. Connecticut Magazine recently named South Norwalk as the “hottest” nightspot between Boston and New York City, with a plethora of theater groups and restaurants to choose from. New York City is easily accessible by car or train.

Job Requirements:

  • MD or DO with CT State License, Federal DEA, and State Controlled Substance Registration
  • Have successfully completed a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Internal Medicine/Peds Residency, and successfully completed a Geriatrics Fellowship.
  • Must be Board Certified or be Board Eligible
  • Off-hour coverage – Shared among multiple providers, phone-calls only with nurse triage
  • Full time weekday 8-hour schedules between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday – Friday
  • Bi-lingual Spanish skills a plus
