About St. Christopher's Hospital for Children

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a partnership between Tower Health and Drexel University, is a 188-bed facility that provides exceptional care to children throughout the Greater Philadelphia area and surrounding counties.

With more than 220 pediatric experts on staff, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children combines top-notch pediatric care with a wide array of pediatric specialties, including Cardiology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Gastroenterology, Oncology, and Orthopedics. It houses the only Verified Pediatric Only Burn Center between New York City and Baltimore and is one of only three Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in Pennsylvania. Job Summary

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children (SCHC) is seeking to hire a full-time, board eligible/board certified pediatric diagnostic radiologist.

The radiology department is comprised of 5 full-time diagnostic radiologists and 1 full-time pediatric interventional radiologist who provide subspecialty pediatric radiology coverage for large portions of southeastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding tri-state area, including southern New Jersey and northern Delaware.

Approximately 50,000 examinations were performed in 2019 at our 188-bed hospital.

The department provides services in all modalities, including radiography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Advanced MRI examinations are frequent, including neuroimaging, MR enterography, MR urography, fetal MR, and cardiac MR.

SCHC prides itself on its commitment to teaching, and attending radiologists provide a robust educational experience to a variety of trainees, including medical students, residents, and fellows. All radiologists have academic appointments with the Drexel University College of Medicine and are involved in the training of their medical students as well as residents from SCHC. In addition, several local radiology residency programs utilize SCHC as their diagnostic pediatric radiology training site including Albert Einstein Medical Center, Cooper University Hospital and Temple University School of Medicine. The department of radiology at SCHC offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship in pediatric radiology.

The city is the home of many universities and colleges, a wide spectrum of healthcare systems, and all four major sport teams. Although it has a rich history including numerous National Historic Landmarks, the city is bustling with a thriving art and cultural scene and an abundance of restaurants and nightlife activities.

Qualifications

  • BE/BC with accredited fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology
  • Hold or be eligible for an unrestricted and unchallenged license to practice medicine in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience
