The Tele-Infectious Diseases Program in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) seeks an ambitious Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to help LEAD the virtual Infection Prevention (IP) program.

The candidate will develop and tailor programs for prevention of healthcare-associated infection, and contribute to innovation in outbreak detection, contact tracing, and other aspects of infection prevention. The position entails problem-specific guidance to partner institutions. Unique advantages of the position include opportunities for research, clinical care on the Tele-Infectious Diseases services or the traditional inpatient services, teaching and mentoring of trainees, and working from home or from out-of-state locations. Mentorship for the position will come from the Medical Director of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Prevention for the UPMC system, with opportunities to engage in the collaborative Infection Prevention community at UPMC.

The compensation and benefit package is competitive and commensurate with experience. Candidates must hold an MD (or DO) degree and be board eligible or board certified in Infectious Diseases. Training and experience in infection prevention is preferred as is a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
