Job Summary

The Division of Ophthalmology at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, and its New Jersey satellite, is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist to join our current team of two Ophthalmologists, two Optometrists, and one ROP Coordinator. Members of the division participate in clinical care, teaching medical students and pediatric residents and have the opportunity for clinical and basic science research. We have affiliations with Drexel School of Medicine and Temple School of Medicine.

The candidate will be an integral and interactive member of the division of Ophthalmology and participate in the inpatient and outpatient management of ophthalmology patients. Our hospital is a referral center in the Metro Philadelphia area for pediatric ophthalmology patients, providing comprehensive evaluations and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with a variety of eye disorders. The center has high pathology. Our physicians care for and treat all fields of pediatric ophthalmology, including congenial and infantile glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, as well as its treatment, retinoblastoma, oculoplastic and anterior segment trauma and strabismus.

The successful candidate will be a BC/BE ophthalmologist from an ACGME approved program, with additional fellowship training in an ACGME pediatric ophthalmology program. Applicants should have the ability to work with teams on patient focused, division centric and hospital wide initiatives.

The staff physician shall provide patient care services and will support the St. Christopher's Hospital for Children mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • BE/BC Pediatric Ophthalmology
  • Hold or be eligible for an unrestricted and unchallenged license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania & New Jersey
  • Valid DEA Licensure
