Do you have a keen professional interest in addiction medicine and substance use treatment? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking Internal Medicine/Family Practice physician leader to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. This newly-created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight of clinical services for the Complex Patient Population Program (CPPP), including coordination of substance use disorder treatment (SUDT), medication-assisted treatment (MAT), pain and palliative care services, Hepatitis C treatment, transgender care, and other patient populations requiring high intensity clinical services
- Clinical and administrative leadership and direct supervision of physicians providing complex patient care via telehealth
- Assisting in the implementation and clinical operation of a statewide CPPP that prepares primary care providers to screen, refer, and treat patients with SUDT and other high intensity clinical needs
- Coordination and support of post-release treatment and services
- On-call duties and occasional travel to correctional institutions and community health care organizations
