Duke Anesthesiology is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified critical care physicians to join our community based practice on the campus of Duke Raleigh Hospital. Candidates should have residency training in anesthesiology and fellowship training in critical care. The applicant should anticipate spending 60% of their time in the ICU overseeing both surgical and medical cases and 40% of their time in the OR.

Academic rank will be determined based on individual qualifications. The candidate will be expected to participate fully in the academic missions of the Division and Department with opportunities to work at other facilities in the Health System.

Duke Raleigh is a medical surgical hospital with a growing multi-specialty surgical program that now includes neurosurgery, surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, thoracic surgery and vascular surgery. The hospital currently has a 15 bed medical surgical ICU. In 2020, Duke Raleigh will add a 160,000-square foot, six-story tower on the south side of the current hospital. The new tower will include a new OR space on the first floor with larger replacement ORs and more support space. When the new bed tower opens, there will be a new 28 bed ICU split into medical and surgical units along with a separate NeuroICU.
