Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of Rheumatology is seeking faculty candidates who want to devote their careers to academic medicine. We are open to interviewing candidates of varying stages of careers and varying interests. The ideal candidates are those with certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound, and bone densitometry. We are also seeking individuals who have a special interest in vasculitis, osteoarthritis, scleroderma, and myositis.

There are many teaching and research opportunities at our institution. Our two-year fellowship program has recently expanded to accommodate five fellows. We also engage with residents from Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Orthopedics. We run clinical trials, and collaborate with scientists in other areas namely health disparities, health services, medical education, and translational science. Our division is also heading up an Interdisciplinary Osteoporosis Clinical Working Group in our institution, with the Fracture Liaison Service as a key feature. Our facilities have ultrasound machines, and we have an infusion center which we are currently expanding.

The division regularly holds faculty development sessions to expand the leadership, teaching skills of its faculty. Faculty are also involved in workshops with fellows to expand their clinical and procedural skills.

The Division of Rheumatology provides inpatient and outpatient services not only to the Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC), but also provides services to Riverside University Health System. It also provides outpatient services to the federally-funded Social Action Community Health clinic of San Bernardino County. We also have an affiliation with the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group is affiliated with Loma Linda University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital, and School of Medicine, with the mission to deliver whole-person care at a world class level of clinical excellence. The Medical Center serves as the largest tertiary referral source in both Riverside and San Bernardino counties with a surrounding population approaching 4 million.

Today we are building a new hospital and expanding our children’s hospital to continue meeting the health needs of our community. About the area

Loma Linda University is located between Los Angeles and Palm Springs in an area known as the Inland Empire. Nestled at the foot of the San Bernardino mountains, we have convenient access to beach cities, skiing, hiking, and a variety of other outdoor activities. This region also has excellent private and public school systems.
