Overview

Due to extensive growth and community need, Reading Hospital/Tower Health is seeking an experienced Vascular Neurologist or Endovascular Neurosurgeon to be the Stroke Medical Director and lead a very talented multidisciplinary team in the development a Comprehensive Stroke Program. This key leadership opportunity is a hospital employed position in our growing Neuroscience program. The ideal candidate will be Vascular fellowship trained and have extensive experience with a high acuity, high volume Stroke environment.

The Tower Health Neuroscience Center is a multi-subspecialty clinical service line addressing the needs in the six Tower Health hospitals in 4 counties of Southeast PA. Reading Hospital is in the final stages of developing a Comprehensive Stroke Program to deal with the growing volume and acuity. The Stroke Center has a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary stroke team with a state of art stroke unit and is supported by a technologically advanced endovascular treatment program and a Neuro ICU with 3 fellowship trained Neurointensivists. The stroke program is driven by the busiest Emergency Department in PA with over 135,000 visits per year with call primarily being done by telestroke. Over the past 5 years, Reading Hospital has responded to the critical community need by hiring 16 Neurologists and 4 Neurosurgeons.

Job Summary

The Stroke Director will be joining a very experienced Stroke Team with layered support to include APCs. This leadership position provides a unique opportunity to join a very experience multidisciplinary unit in the expansion of the Neuroscience team and development of the Comprehensive Stroke Program.

Qualifications

MD or DO; Candidates must be licensed/eligible to practice medicine in Pennsylvania; Board Certified in Neurology & Vascular Neurology or Endovascular Neurosurgery.
