Nanyang Technological University

Dean, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) is a joint school between two of the world’s premier institutions of higher education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Imperial College London.

The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, has seen its first doctors graduating in 2018 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees awarded jointly by NTU Singapore and Imperial College. The School’s primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, one of three clusters of Singapore’s public healthcare system.

Committed to delivering healthcare of tomorrow at LKCMedicine, medical education, and research form the twin pillars for academic excellence. The School not only trains the best clinicians with its innovative curriculum, but also spearheads research and medical innovations that improve patient outcomes and transforms healthcare. LKCMedicine’s integrated research strategy draws on Imperial’s and NTU Singapore’s track record of reaping synergies between medicine, science and technology.

The School has now started a global search for its next Dean to succeed Professor James Best AO, who will step down in 2020. His successor will have an outstanding opportunity to lead the School to new achievements, while building on an exceptional platform of academic programs and partnerships with health service providers, community advisors, and voluntary welfare organisations.

Driving the School’s research agenda will be a key focus for the next Dean. The successful candidate will therefore possess exceptional leadership ability and outstanding track record in advancing world-class research. With demonstrated success in providing inspiration and vision in an analogous context within a world-leading institution, applicants will be able to act as a compelling advocate for the School nationally and internationally.

Further information, including details of how to apply, can be downloaded at: www.perrettlaver.com/candidates quoting reference 4173. The deadline for applications is 5pm SGT on Friday 12th July.
