The Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center is seeking a full time neuroanesthesiologist.

Responsibilities will include providing clinical care to neurosurgical patients, including a growing volume of both patients undergoing cortical mapping and those having endovascular procedures, and participation in resident and fellow education. In addition, faculty will have opportunity to participate in and/or develop research projects.

The Division of Neuroanesthesiology is nationally recognized for excellence in basic neuroscience research, clinical research, and neuroanesthesia education. The Division covers a large and rapidly growing neurosurgical (all subspecialties) and interventional neuroradiology practice. Recently expanded intraoperative MRI & CT imaging and endovascular neuroradiology suites increase the range of surgical capabilities and are integral to the neuroanesthesia practice. Duke University Hospital is a Level I trauma center, a JCAHO Certified Stroke Center, and home of the world-renowned Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.

Required Certification or Experience

Ideal candidates will be BC/BE in Anesthesiology, have a commitment to teaching and research, and be fellowship trained in Neuroanesthesiology (or have significant experience and expertise in the field). Neurocritical Care experience would be an asset but is not required.
