Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position in to join us as Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med. This position also entitles the chosen faculty member to hold the Landis Endowed Chair of Pediatric Oncology and an appointment as Professor of Pediatrics at the Albany Medical College. This individual will be joining five additional faculty in a well-established and donor-supported program at the Melodies Center with specialty clinics in Oncology, Sickle Cell, Hemophilia, Survivorship, and Neuro-Oncology. This signature program of the Children’s Hospital serves over 700,000 children from 25 counties in upstate New York and western Massachusetts and is the only specialty clinic of its kind in the region. The faculty hold academic appointments at the Albany Medical College and actively participate in teaching of residents and medical students daily. We evaluate approximately 70 new cancer diagnoses annually and see more than 5,700 outpatient visits in the outpatient offices. We are full members of COG and ATHN and participate in funding initiatives through both organizations.

Albany Medical Center Hospital is a large academic Medical Center in Albany, New York, the state capital. It is a level I Trauma Center and the regional hub for all adult and pediatric specialties. The Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital, which houses a 60-bed NICU, 19-bed PICU, and a new pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018, is the site of inpatient care rendered by the division. Albany Medical College is a private medical school, and a nondiscriminatory AA/EOE institution (minorities and women are encouraged to apply). The successful candidate will enjoy many opportunities for teaching house staff and medical students and will be eligible for a faculty appointment in Albany medical College, rank will be dependent on qualifications, and experience.
