Job Details
Examines; establishes diagnoses and prescribes course of treatment for OB/GYN patients including those of an unusually complex and difficult nature. Performs surgical procedures and assists in Operating Room (OR) under minimal supervision guiding and directing the assisting Medical Officer, nurse anesthetist and nurses. Performs advanced colposcopy and treatment of dysplasia. Reviews and studies medical history and progress of patients. Responds and evaluates OB/GYN emergencies often requiring significant coordination between nursing, anesthesia and pediatric providers. Completes medical record documentation with accuracy, timeliness and thoroughness.
Evaluates laboratory and clinical findings and provides treatment and follow-up care. Collaborates with specialists on interrelated problems. Performs screenings and diagnostic modalities for OB/GYN malignancies (biopsies and colposcopies), as well as preventive care and education for women seen in the OB/GYN Clinic. Performs ultrasounds to include biometry, fetal surveillance and biophysical profile; basic infertility workups, evaluations, treatments and deliveries, to include caesarian section, induction of labor, etc.
Qualifications
Must be a board eligible specialist, or possess progressive experience equivalent in breadth and intensity, in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a doctorate degree from an approved U.S. Medical School and a current license to practice medicine.
