Inpatient Division Director, Department of Psychiatry, Zucker Hillside Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center of Northwell Health
The Department of Psychiatry at Zucker Hillside Hospital (ZHH) is seeking an innovative Division Director of Inpatient Psychiatry with excellent clinical and administrative skills.
The inpatient psychiatry service is comprised of ten inpatient units ranging in size from 20 to 31 beds. Six of the units are located in our state-of-the-art Behavioral Health Pavilion. There are five general psychiatry units, a women’s unit with a perinatal cluster, a young adult/college student unit, an adolescent unit, and two geriatric psychiatry units. Inpatient medical providers include 20 attending psychiatrists and four nurse practitioners, all of whom report directly to the Inpatient Division Director. In addition to an excellent and seasoned nursing team, units are additionally staffed by psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric rehabilitation personnel. Several units are residency training environments for R-1 and R-2 psychiatric house staff from our highly regarded residency training program; and units also serve as training sites for medical students and other allied health professional trainees.
Responsibilities include operational oversight of the service, interface with Central Intake, quality and performance monitoring and improvement, continued inculcation of a clinical culture adherent to evidence-based practices that increasingly employs measurement-driven and data-informed outcome/assessment processes. The position is further enriched through Interactions with our world-renowned Psychiatry Research programs, large ECT service, C/L service, emerging rTMS and planned ketamine programs, graduate medical and continuing education activities, and Behavioral Health Service Line, which enables cross-talk with other Northwell system hospitals and their inpatient psychiatry settings through system-wide committees (e.g. P & T, Performance Improvement Coordinating Group, Incident Review) and initiatives (e.g. new behavioral health EMR).
The Zucker Hillside Hospital is located approximately 15 miles from Manhattan and short distances from diverse Long Island-based recreational activities (e.g. beaches, biking, parks).
