JOB TYPE: FULL TIME/ DAY

White Plains Hospital a 292-bed hospital, located 25 miles north of Manhattan, in Westchester county, is seeking a full-time Associate Medical Director - Psychiatry.

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Medical Director, Psychiatry provides psychiatric services to the Hospital's patient population (including but not limited to assessment, treatment, and management of care) and assures continuity of care for the patients assigned to the Physician. This position will also provide oversight and direction to the physicians and other professionals providing psychiatric services to patients of White Plains Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR-PSYCHIATRY

  •  Must have NYS license and DEA certificate.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies, & Behaviors.
  • Provide the clinical skills necessary for the efficient delivery of high quality care to patients with psychiatric illness. Physician will cover inpatient psychiatric consultations from the floors and the Emergency Department as required.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the attending psychiatrists, psychiatric social workers, psychologists, and technical and clerical staff, who provide psychiatric services to White Plains Hospital patients.
  • Interface with medical professionals and administrators in other Hospital departments and throughout the Montefiore system to ensure highest quality patient care.
  • Implement and update departmental and Hospital policies and procedures related to Psychiatric services, including quality improvement.
  • Oversee department human resources and budget planning.
  • Oversee and implement education programs, strategic planning, research and development to further the mission of the Department and Hospital.
  • As may be reasonably required by the Hospital, work with designated Hospital administrators to provide input into strategic planning, program enhancement, and growth.
  • As may be reasonably required by the Hospital, assist with the selection, supervision, and evaluation of clinical staff for psychiatry service.
  • Develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships with other institutions (hospitals, community service agencies) and community partners (e.g. Police Department, Crisis Team, etc) as appropriate.
  • As may be reasonably required by the Hospital, assist the Hospital in recruitment of additional physicians to the area served by the Hospital.
  • Participate in utilization management, quality improvement, patient satisfaction programs, and committees as may be reasonably required by the Hospital.
  • Participate in teaching or community benefit programs or other activities as may be reasonably required by the Hospital from time to time.
  • Participate in after hours and on call coverage as may be indicated for patient care and practice needs.
  • Provide and perform such other services as may be reasonably required by the Hospital from time to time.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
