Job Details

Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group seeks a full-time Adult or General Psychiatrist to join our expanding behavioral health team at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, Connecticut.

Join a collaborative inpatient psychiatry unit providing adult and general psychiatric services for this 18-bed inpatient unit. This care unit is fully staffed with an occupational and group therapist, social work support for individual therapy and case management, and a dedicated insurance utilization review team. The inpatient team also enjoys regular medical and surgical support for any non-psychiatric issues, including routine H&P. Here you'll be part of a dynamic team with credentialing at both Johnson Memorial Hospital and St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Our affiliation with the Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter School of Medicine offers you a faculty appointment and opportunities to supervise and teach medical students rotating through the unit during their internships.

In this role, you would be the primary physician for the unit and will be covering the caseload with supervised support from a full-time APRN. Additional responsibilities may include providing psychiatric consultations for patients admitted to the ED or medical/surgical units, but the average volume of consultation cases is low. This is a full-time position with a favorable 9am-5pm weekday schedule with opportunities to earn additional income with weekend shifts. The successful candidate should be an experienced BC/BE Adult or General Psychiatrist with at least three years of inpatient experience.

Practicing in Stafford Springs, Connecticut puts you in the heart of New England. This small community of 5,000 residents situated on the border of Massachusetts offers a suburban lifestyle with excellent homes, small town amenities and entertainment, and excellent public schools. The central New England location puts you in close proximity to New York City and Boston with easy access to dependable air and rail services.
