University of Connecticut School of Medicine’s Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Occupational and Environmental Medicine are seeking applications from outstanding investigators for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level. Candidates with research interests in Opioid abuse and/or Addictions are especially encouraged to apply, and strong collaborative opportunities with the Department of Psychiatry, and other pain and addiction researchers at the School of Medicine. Minimal qualifications include an MD or PhD degree, with appropriate post-graduate training for physicians.

The Department of Medicine has special strengths in outcomes and health service research, smoking cessation, respiratory infections, aging research, and occupational medicine. The proximity of the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine on UConn’s campus also offers opportunities for program development and collaboration.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish or continue an independent and innovative research program with extramural funding, and to actively contribute to a rich scientific environment. We are especially interested in candidates who can demonstrate interdisciplinary research experience and approaches to the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders. While research is expected to occupy the large majority of the individual’s effort, contribution to the Division’s teaching activities and, if appropriate, clinical activities would also be expected. Innovative investigators utilizing approaches across the spectrum from basic to clinical/translational/outcomes research are welcome to apply.

UConn’s biomedical campus is located in Farmington, CT, mid-way between New York City and Boston, and within commuting distance of New Haven.

Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and curriculum vitae at: https://jobs.uchc.edu, search no. 2019-795.

UConn Health is an Affirmative Action Employer, in addition to an EEO and M/F/V/PwD Employer.
