Summary The Division of Nephrology of NY Medical College/Westchester Medical Center is seeking a candidate with experience/interest in clinical research, who will also participate in the teaching and research activities of the nephrology fellowship program at a major academic medical center in the New York metropolitan area. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Nephrology and be able to obtain a New York State license. Responsibilities include teaching, attending on the renal inpatient consult service, rounding on dialysis outpatients, seeing outpatients, and clinical research. The candidate will also participate inteaching, supervision, and clinical care activities of the division, including the nephrology fellowship and internal medicine residencies, as well as contributing to regular didactic lectures and conferences. The candidate will be expected to initiate, continue, and oversee clinical research projects involving nephrology fellows and assist in developing presentations, authoring publications of research results, and assisting fellows in producing case reports and clinical reviews of applicable topics. Protected research time will be available. Experience in the conduct of clinical researchand proven productivity in obtaining clinical research grants is preferable. The division of nephrology interfaces with the heart, liver, and kidney transplant program, trauma, surgical, cardiothoracic, and medical ICUs, bone marrow transplant and heart failure programs, as well as general inpatient and outpatient services. These interactions provide excellent opportunities to explore renal disease in a wide variety of acutely and chronically ill patients.
