Duke University's Division of Student Affairs is seeking a full-time Medical Director to join their clinical team. Student Health Services at Duke provide comprehensive primary care services to 15,500 undergraduate, graduate and professional students.
The Medical Director will serve as a member of the Student Health leadership team and collaborate on development and implementation of strategies to achieve organizational goals and desired outcomes. Administrative responsibilities include planning and managing operations, personnel management, quality assurance, reporting, compliance and policy interpretation related to clinical services. The Medical Director will also have an active clinical practice, provide on-site clinical teaching, and participate in campus outreach initiatives.
Qualified candidates will be Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics. Current North Carolina physician's license required. Prior job experience with adolescents and young adults preferred. Must possess qualifications that lead to an academic appointment in the Duke School of Medicine. Cultural competency demonstrated via success in working as part of a team as well as with individuals of diverse backgrounds and skills required.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of clinical ambulatory care experience, and 3 years of relevant managerial experience. Familiarity with areas of support for clinical care such as laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, quality assurance, electronic health record management, and specialty consultation required. Experience with continuing medical education and research activities highly desirable.
