Position Description

Polson, MT - Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking an excellent BC Emergency Medicine physician to work in the ED. Come to Polson and enjoy a healthy work / life balance in the scenic beauty of Montana's Big Sky Country.
  • Per Diem position, working 12-hour shifts
  • Two years of Emergency Medicine experience is required.
  • Level 4 trauma center and critical access hospital with a 6 bed ED; 2 trauma bays and 4 rooms averaging 13 patients in 24 hours.
  • Competitive compensation; comprehensive benefits.

Facility Description

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is a 22-bed critical access hospital serving a widely dispersed population in beautiful northwest Montana. Through innovative partnerships including a visiting specialists program, we are able to provide advanced care while maintaining the personal attention to each patient that has been a hallmark of our care for more than a century. St. Joseph has especially close ties to Providence St. Patrick Hospital, a 253-bed tertiary center located 65 miles away in Missoula.

Location Description

Polson is located on edge of the largest and arguably most beautiful body of fresh water in the West. Flathead Lake, the geographic centerpiece of this part of Montana, is framed by some of the Rockies' most scenic and spectacular subranges, including the Mission, Salish and Swan Mountains. Life moves at a slower pace here but it is anything but boring. From hiking, hunting and fishing to famous car shows and other community events, residents clearly don't take each other or their amazing natural surroundings for granted. There is a rich cultural heritage in Polson as well, both in terms of its "wild west" history as a cattle and logging town and its more distant history as the native lands of the Salish, Kootenai and Pend d'Oreille peoples. Museums, parks and a cultural center preserve the ways of the past.
