Position Description

Providence Health & Services - Washington desires to employ a Physician - Internal Medicine in Spokane, Washington. The Physician - Internal Medicine provides diagnostic expertise, treatment, and compassionate care of adults across the spectrum from health to complex illness.

Specifically, the Physician - Internal Medicine's duties shall include:
  • Provide and manage long-term, comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of diseases, for adult patients.
  • Analyze records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
  • Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Make diagnoses when different illnesses occur together or in situations where the diagnosis may be obscure.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
  • Immunize patients to protect them from preventable diseases.
  • Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
  • Advise surgeon of a patient's risk status and recommend appropriate intervention to minimize risk.
  • Provide consulting services to other doctors caring for patients with special or difficult problems.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:
  • Medical Degree, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or Foreign Equivalent.
  • Completion of a Three-year Residency in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine.
  • Washington State Medical License.
