RWJBarnabas Health is currently seeking an experienced Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist to lead as Division Chief at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick (RWJUH).

The Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Program at RWJUH offers the full spectrum of care for the advanced heart failure patient, including biventricular pacemakers, left ventricular assist devices, access to clinical trials – and is one of only two programs in the state of New Jersey that hold the certificate of need for heart transplant.

In addition to clinical and administrative leadership responsibilities at our New Brunswick campus, the new Chief of Advanced Heart Failure would also participate in system-wide integrated cardiology leadership group for RWJBarnabas Health and support strategy for Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation across the state.

Successful candidates for this important role will:

  • Be fellowship trained and board-certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology
  • Meet all criteria to serve as a transplant physician by United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS)
  • Ideally have previous program development experience 
  • Be experienced with clinical trial research and have ability to meet the requirements for an academic appointment
