The Gastroenterology Section of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) is seeking an enthusiastic physician scientist that is board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology and has training in advanced gastroenterology procedures such as ERCP/EUS. The successful candidate will have full salary support and substantial protected time for research activities. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to join our internationally recognized Center for Care Delivery and Outcomes Research (CCDOR), a VA HSR&D Center of Innovation with a large, experienced cadre of clinical investigators, internal statistics and data management expertise, and extensive research support infrastructure. Membership in the University of Minnesota Comprehensive Cancer Center is also available.

Key duties include diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with gastrointestinal diseases according to evidenced based methods and techniques. The ideal candidate should be proficient at routine and advanced GI procedures such as: ERCP, EUS, colonoscopy, EGD, and its associated procedures. The incumbent will have an academic position at the University of Minnesota and participate in educational program for gastroenterology fellows, medical residents, and medical students. The incumbent will also provide outpatient and inpatient consultation and management of Gastroenterology patients as well as provide teaching and supervisory oversight of the trainees.
