Hepatobiliary Surgical Oncologist

Position Description

Spokane, Washington -Providence Health Care/ Providence Medical Group Division of Liver and Pancreas is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified surgical oncologist to join our practice on the campus of Providence Sacred Heart Hospital in beautiful Spokane Washington. Candidates should have fellowship training in either complex general surgical oncology or HPB surgery. The ideal candidate would be dual trained (but not absolutely necessary) in Transplant Surgery and comfortable with deceased donor and living donor kidney transplantation and may have an option to participate in Pancreas Transplantation. The applicant should anticipate participating in liver and pancreas/ transplant call with a total of four providers.

Providence Digestive Health Liver and Pancreas is a large multidisciplinary group with Gastroenterology, Advanced Endoscopy, Hepatology, Hepatobiliary Surgery in one clinic. Our program has a strong foundation of support services such as weekly Liver and Pancreas Tumor Board, embedded Palliative care clinic, a large referral source and multiple outreach clinics.

The practice is a hybrid of private practice and academics. With two medical schools in the communities. The HPB surgeons in the practice are involved in the training of PGY-4 and PGY-5 General Surgery Residents, as well as medical students.

Opportunity Details:

• Comprehensive Hepatico-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgical practice; Gall Bladder and Bile Duct Surgery, Liver Resections, Pancreatic Cancer, Pancreatitis, Radiofrequency Ablation of Liver Tumors, Whipple Procedure (Pancreaticoduodenectomy)
• State-of-the-art surgical facilities.
• Weekly HBP/Multidisciplinary Tumor Conference.
• Participation in and access to research trials on the latest innovations in cancer treatment therapies
• Reasonable Call Schedule.

Successful candidate will possess the following:

• ABS Certified in General Surgery
• Fellowship Certified HBP Surgeon and/or Abdominal Organ Transplant Surgeon
• Laparoendoscopic skills required
