General Surgeon- Geisinger Jersey Shore

Geisinger is seeking a Board Eligible/ Board Certified General Surgeon to join our Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital. This position is an opportunity to grow a surgical practice within Geisinger. The provider will practice at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital (approx. 70%) and Geisinger Medical Center (approx. 30%). Opportunities for teaching and academic pursuits exist with this position and integration of all the hospitals within Geisinger. The Outpatient clinic locations include: Lock Haven, Montoursville, and Jersey Shore. This position is an opportunity to grow a surgical practice within Geisinger with a community hospital feel. The hospital has invested significant amount of capital in providing updates to it, including remodeling of the hospital, operations rooms including new equipment and renovated clinic space.

Outpatient volumes up to 20 patients/day (returns and news) and surgeries (approx. 200/year) which includes hernia's, gallbladders, lesions, endoscopies, appendectomies. Outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds on post-ops, consults as needed and surgery at Jersey Shore. Geisinger Medical Center will provide the physician EGS call coverage and higher acuity cases. Montoursville and Lock Haven have nursing/par staff from our Primary Care offices.
