The Cardiovascular (CV) Imaging Institute at Houston Methodist Hospital is currently accepting applications for clinical CV Imaging Fellowship positions, for July 2020 start.

The CV Imaging institute at Houston Methodist Hospital currently has 14 Level 3 trained Imaging faculty mentors, 8-10 clinical and/or research fellows. The institute encompasses state-of-the-art laboratories in all aspects of CV imaging: Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology (SPECT and PET), Cardiovascular CT, Cardiovascular MRI. In addition, there is an advanced translational imaging research facility which houses at 3T MRI, 7T MRI, and PET/CT.

DESCRIPTION: The Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship Training Program is a non-ACGME, Texas Medical Board (TMB) accredited training program, and is designed for individuals who have completed a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship and wish to gain additional imaging training, plus reach Level II and/or III COCATS requirements. All training takes place within the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center.

CARDIOVASCULAR IMAGING TRACKS
Training Options: All of the following are advanced level training to reach Level III.

  • Echocardiography: One-year program comprised of advanced training in transthoracic, transesophageal, stress, and intraoperative echocardiography.
  • Cardiovascular MRI: One-year program comprised of advanced training in Cardiac MRI and Vascular MRA, or two-year academic program which includes dedicated research time.
  • Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT Angiography: One-year program comprised of combined training in Nuclear Cardiology/PET and cardiovascular CT Angiography.
  • Multi-Modality Cardiovascular Imaging: Two-year program that is includes training in echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology/PET, cardiovascular CT, and cardiovascular MRI.

Selection criteria: Track record in outstanding clinical and academic performance, prior research experience and publications, commitment to an academic career in CV imaging science, strong personal references and an interview.
